Medsim is an independent training and knowledge institute for healthcare. We offer unique multidisciplinary team training for medical professionals in a safe and realistic environment. Medsim has a modern simulation center and, through research and innovative simulation training, makes a fundamental contribution to patient safety. Unlike other centers, Medsim places the multidisciplinary team and the improvement of team skills at the center of its training.

Our ambition

The importance of effective teamwork for patient safety can hardly be overstated. Our ambition is therefore that multidisciplinary team training using medical simulation is incorporated into the curricula of all medical specialist training programs, including further and continuing education. Only in this way can the foundation be laid for a culture in which effective communication and teamwork are taken for granted parts of medical care.

Our vision

In addition to knowledge, (technical) skills, and protocols, communication and collaboration play a crucial role in acute medical situations. Too often, miscommunication or poor teamwork in stressful situations leads to unintended harm to the patient—harm that, in many cases, could have been prevented. Becoming better attuned to each other as a team and learning to communicate effectively is the key way to optimize team performance and enhance patient safety. Medsim’s multidisciplinary training sessions offer the unique opportunity to train both medical skills and team interaction with your own team in a safe and familiar setting.
